And on and on and on.
Guiliani, Hannity, Limbaugh, Ingram, those buffoons on Fox and Friends, a long list of flag-wrapped GOP Congressmen who would sell not just their souls, but their country to the devil (Putin) if it means keeping power so they could form their permanent Gilded Age version of America.
Mueller is setting a perjury trap for Trump, so Trump can’t testify.
While Guiliani may claim he and Trump aren’t suckers, they clearly play their 40% of the electorate (which, lets remember is about 12% of the population, given that about 30% of the population votes) as such. And why not. These angry “uneducated voters” as Dear Leader called them, have fallen for much more ridiculous claims than that.
But for the rest of the country, here is the reality… Under oath, when asked any question, Trump, just like every major citizen, has three choices:
- He can tell the truth
- Plea the 5th Amendment protection against self-incrimination
- Lie
Remember, this country’s founding was by people who did not trust power. It is actually VERY difficult if not impossible, to “trap” an innocent person in perjury.
But there is a trap here for Trump:
- If Trump lies, Mueller will have rock solid counter evidence and charge him with perjury
- If Trump pleas the 5th, then he basically admits guilt, and only the evidence of his crimes (minus his claims of innocence) will be evidence for a jury.
- If he tells the truth, then he will, almost certainly be admitting to a crime or multiple crimes.
So, yes, there is a trap for Trump in testifying. One his criminality, obstruction, bragging and idiocy via Twitter and interview have been SET BY HIM FOR HIM.
You might call it a perjury trap trap; when you’re dumb enough to set yourself into a perjury trap.
